Koçanlı Köşkü

General Information

  Koçanlı Mansion It is a historical building located in Çandarlı, a holiday town in the Dikili district of İzmir. It was built in 1859 to protect especially girls from the raids of Greek bandits from Lesbos in 1820. The mansion, which draws attention with its sheltered structure, was designed in accordance with the Gum Type House style in architecture.

  As a result of the 1923 Lausanne Exchange, it passed to its new owners when the Greek merchant who owned the mansion went to Lesbos. Koçanlı Mansion was later given to families from Greece, Kavala, and Diraniç, and became a three-house apartment separated from each other by traditional walls.

  With the restoration works initiated by Çandarlı Municipality between 2010-2014, it has been transformed into a boutique hotel in accordance with the period it was built. The additional building built in the garden of Koçanlı Mansion is used as a reception area in the hotel.
