Hikmet's House

General Information

  The mansion, which consists of two parts placed on the northern and eastern edges of a rectangular building, is entirely made of local, smooth cut stone. The building in the eastern part is two-storey, and the building in the northern part is one-storey. It is understood from the inscription reading Maşallah on the middle axis of the two-storey building that the mansion was built in 1276 H. (M.1859). In addition, unlike many houses in the vicinity, there is a historical water well in the middle of this mansion, inherited from the old living conditions.

  The mansion, which reflects the cultural and historical texture of the region with its unique architecture, was reportedly used as an infirmary during the War of Independence, and in later periods, it was used as a home by postman Hikmet Cingi and his family, one of the well-known figures of Avanos, from whom it takes its name.

 Bed and Breakfast Concept

  All food and beverages purchased at the facility, except breakfast, are charged extra.

  Breakfast is served at the facility at the hours requested by the guests. Local pastries such as matzo, bazlama, home-made bread and yufka, as well as homemade cheese, jam, molasses and pelverde are offered according to their current freshness. Fruits and vegetables do not contain GMO (genetically modified organisms), i.e. laboratory-produced seeds. They are products produced with natural seeds and handcrafted in the facilitys private garden. Dairy products such as cheese and butter are homemade from the milk of goats and sheep raised by the facility. These products have been prepared for the needs of the facilitys family for years, and guests are introduced to natural and healthy products by experiencing this unique experience. Homemade foods prepared completely naturally can be offered upon request, according to the orders given by the guests in advance.
